WP4: Development of multibarrier rehabilitation technologies for treatment of mixed groundwater pollutions
AQUAREHAB will develop multibarrier rehabilitation technologies, focussing on:
- test procedures to predict long-term performance of zerovalent iron (ZVI) containing Multibarriers;
- the interaction between ZVI and soil micro-organisms in Multibarrier systems that combine abiotic and biotic processes; and,
- a numerical model to calculate the long-term impact of the ZVI- and multibarrier technology on the local water system.
